VARIETAL NOTES:
Chardonnay is the classic white grape varietal grown in the Champagne
and Burgundy regions of France, where it produces wines of
extraordinary elegance and longevity. It is considered the greatest white
wine grape in the world, and expresses fruit flavors ranging from melon
to sweet orange and pear, depending on the climate where it is grown.
In Sonoma County, California, the grape is planted in cool sites
in the Russian River Valley, as well as warmer locations in Dry Creek Valley
and Alexander Valley. We have used grapes from all of these appellations
to create a beautifully fruity wine. Only a small quantity of oak barrels
were used, to add a touch of spice.
